i am totally bored at home now. went out with the girls today and had lots of fun. the wacky stuff we do, the phototaking sessions, the jokes that pingu says, the looks that zel gives, the funny stuff that xiang does...a neverending list of things. when will we have such times together again. probably next year..xiang is leaving in about a weeks time.

my mum asked me why i want to go send xiang off on sat as she feels that it will be a really sad moment. but after thinking, i still would want to send her off. dont really know how would it be like. i have never really sent people off to study though i have many friends who have already gone overseas to study. it would be one last time that i will meet her before she comes back to singapore for holidays again. and that may well be over a years time.

sigh..think i am thinking about too much things these few days. i am beginning to feel really tired and wish that holiday wont end so quickly . but oh wells. the day will still come even if i dont want it to come..

two days of visiting really just came and went. tmr is like saturday then after sunday it will be back to school again. well something more different this year is that we managed to take a family picture of those relatives on my father side which has never happen before. but all the other routine stuff we have to do each year still remains the same like visiting each other homes and playing games like black jack, mahjong and so on.

tmr will be a day out for the girls. we are going to eat steamboat at yuki and yaki. the steamboat there is not that fantastic lah but at least we have a chance to have steamboat again. and also teppanyaki. i can feel myself getting fat..haha with all the good food these two days. i guess i have to really work it out after this cny.

woke up at 9.20 today. was suppose to mug until i am suppose to go to school but suddenly felt that the mood is not there. later i still have a tutorial and a lecture from 2-4. i cant pon tutorials and as for the lecture,since i am in school i might as just go. i am predicting that the school would be more empty today as many people will declare an off day for themselves( so called ponning) but think ponning today is justifiable lah. because some people have to help out at thome to do last minute cleaning and preparation for the new year. as for me, i have done whatever i could..haha maybe more of my parent doing the cleaning lah. i just tidied up my room.

woke up with a headache..ouch..probably due to the cold weather and the sunlight directly shining at me from seven plus o clock cause my dad brought the curtains to wash. sigh..waking up with a headache is like waking up on the wrong side of bed. i just dont feel great now though i dont have morning lecture.

shups just returned to australia last saturday. i am feeling a bit guilty of forgetting it cause i was just too busy with doing the ticketing stuff and teaching of the kids that on sunday then i realise..eh shups already left. think i should write her an email.

went out to orchard yesterday after a super short day..just a two hour lecture but at an unsoundly time..the 8 am lecture. thats why i was just stoning through the whole trip to orchard yesterday though i was having conversation with my friend. went to P.S , realised they dont have the grade 4 practical book for my student and the stock is not coming in again.. then i went to music essentials to try my luck..no book too. i was like "then how my student take the exam" then we decided to come back to JE to eat yummy food then went to cristofori and finally found the grade 4 book.. so lucky..

cny is just round the corner actually tmr is the new year eve and we are going to have reunion dinner.think everything would be at per normal..just that probably will have some good nusso gathering. and i will have steamboat.yay.

its only after the second week of school and i am already beginning to feel very tired. think everything just came in at the same time. also i think i have switched off in some of the lectures already..which is not good at all especially in calculus. but its so hard to stay awake in that lecture.

feeling so distant from the others now. we only met the first day of school then met zel in school only once. dont know if we will still be able to stay in contact after shups and xiang leave singapore. probably its just my time..i guess the rest are still meeting up.. why is my timetable so sucky such that i cannot even meet the rest.

on the brighter side, i am getting the hang of playing tchaikovsky 5th symphony and beginning to enjoy it more than before. same with beethoven 5th too. guess the orchestra is slowly improving and the sound is getting better each time. i also need to improve..think i dont sound to my expectation though people said it was ok..

ok think i need to trot off to do some reading up ..

finally the chamber concert is over. can finally concentrate on my studies now. the concert overall was a good one. not only did everybody enjoyed the music we played, i think the bonds between musicians were formed in the process. i basically enjoyed making music with these people.

i've been told that i will lead the oboe section for the coming concert again. Not too sure if i feel happy or not. a part of me feel happy because my efforts are recognised but another part of me dont feel that happy because it seems like i have deprived another person's chance of being principal.

one of my section mates told me that since he is not playing for tchai 5th first oboe, he will just play for the trumpet concerto. he said he want to choose something lesser to practise. then what is the point of joining an orchestra. do you really choose what you want to play? actually for me i am ok with any music even it requires alot of practice because i enjoy it. sometimes i really dont know what some people are thinking

looking through zels post about not having enough time to spend with xiangs and shups before they leave for australia. i kind of feel quite sad. i cannot really control my timetable this sem and hence i am really unable to fork out enough time to squeeze all those activities in. hope we really could do something before they go.

i feel kind of depress now because the tutorial allocation did not work out as what i thought of it. but what to do. NUS work on this system and i am stuck with it for the rest of the year. guess i have to find things to do during super large breaks like 4 hours and above. luckily i still have my hostel room to go back during breaks however i intend to move out after this sem because i am quite unwilling to commit to any of the activities there as most of them dont really appeal to me. joined the hallplay ticketing but kind of regret it now but since i have agreed to commit in the beginning , i just have to finish it. it will end of the 2nd feb..

so far this week is adjusting back to the school mode. cannot help but think too about alot of things when i go around in school. like wondering what am i doing, what should i do and am i doing things correctly. Lectures are basically still touching on the surface of the topic which means i need to just lightly read however it is slowly going to the more difficult part of the topic.

boring lectures are what make me really dread school. physical chem lect was one of it. the lecturer basically gave an hour plus of monotonous lecture which really put me in the sleeping mode. at first i was still listening to him then his voice slowly faded to somewhat a drone and it somehow merged with the background sound. and i really dislike people who just keep on talking during lecture. its quite irritating. plus the voice is not entirely very soothing to the ear, it seems like an hour plus long of yakking in a high pitch voice and i totally cannot stand it. sometimes i just felt like punching the person in the face which i cant in reality.

i should be happy, i should be grateful that the weekend is here. however after the weekend it would be another long week....

was feeling super high while playing tchaikovsky 5th symphony today though it wasnt my first time playing it. i guess music is the only things that can really take away all my worries. after the prac ended, its back to reality.

I am currently in school now.. feeling very bored because i have a four hour break before my next lecture. Actually now is 3 hours break. So i just spent one hour doing nothing efficient. i had a cup of milo from the milo truck just now..happiness..thats the highlight of the bazaar held in school..haha

school is so far quite ok except that i have some booth duties for hall play ticketing. not too sure if i have made the right choice to join that in the beginning. anyway its going to be over quite soon.

its going to be a hectic sem for me..at least till march. because there are concerts by syo, nusso, chamber concerts..blah...hope i will be fine.

two more days before school start. not too sure how i feel right now. i guess i am quite excited to learn about new stuff at school. its time to slowly come back from the holiday mood. so i got all my mods i want and at quite a low point, one point for each mod. so its good.

Principles of econs: not too sure why i took it, maybe i want to know a bit more since i haven taken it before

Physical Chemistry: thermodynamics and what nots..concepts, concepts and more concepts

Organic Chemistry: Most people feel its a mugging subject as it requires memory work but i find it interesting..still rememebered how i constructed large mindmaps about various reactions

Biochemistry: Have absolutely no idea what i will learn..seen some of the topics covered, some concerning about cells and what nots..i think i might die in this sub cause i haven done bio before.

Calculus: thought i would never have to do maths again after jc but too bad..i have to finish 4 maths mod for my moe scholarship.. i guess i quickly finish it and be done with it

so it will be a fascinating sem ahead with all the concerts and mugging...wish me luck

well..today was a fun filled day again. went to je to play a new found game called munchkin with yong kiat, pat, shups and some other yong kiat's friends. i shall save up to buy one set for myself. at least i could introduce to other friends i know. then i went to zhengyang house to play a round of mahjong with terence and ditong. it was basically fun and we were just talking crap through the game.

looking forward to badminton game tmr. so long never play..i think i will have to take some time to warm up. haha.

school is starting soon...and i can feel it. just received notice that i have lecture notes to download for my physical chem mod. haha.maybe i should read it first.

had a fulfilling chamber practice today though it was rather short. it was fun to play with a small group of people. we heard our own recording and there are still some parts to clean up. hope everything will be ok on the 23rd of jan. anyway all are invited to come..its at ucc and i think its at 7.30. and the best thing is that its free!! who doesn love free stuff.

zel and xiang are still at scotland. maybe they will see the mysterious lochness at the lake. and also the haunted castle there too. so cool. i so look forward to going overseas with the orchestra this year. it will be super duper fun. i can just feel it cause i already had a lot of fun during the camp.

oh yeah..NUSSO will also be having a concert on the 1st of march. at the Yong Siew Toh music conservatory hall. so please come too. pieces played would be firebird, beethoven 5th symphony and also haydn cello concerto.

so on the first day of 2008, went out with the MEP friends. Arrived in vivo and was conned into going to one of the pizza place by this person called Benjamin.haha. we all thought that this guy is quite pitiful cause he is in army and dont get to eat at his favourite place as often so we decided to go to where he wanted to go. upon sitting at the table, we realised he had just visited the place the day before and i think about 3 more times in the past week..crazy..but anyway we being the nice girls decided to just stay and have our lunch there.haha

my new phone is finally here. still trying to get use to the functions of the phone but its gorgeous. the 3 inch screen is really cool..haha. also had another buy, a new sunglass. pink colour rims.

school is starting soon..not too sure if i am that excited. xiang and zel are probably in dubai airport now to wait for their transit flight to scotland.

so today is the last day of the year. what can i say? can only say that one year just passes very quickly and year 2008 will come tomorrow. was practising the piano today and realises my fingers cannot run as fast as last time. which really dampens my spirit and affected my mood for practising. i can see a very busy year ahead of me which is filled with many performing opportunities. ( NUSSO chamber concert, NUSSO concert, SYO concert and AC Alumni Band concert and many more) plus the coming overseas trips by the orchestras..really got me excited for the year to come. however it will also mean that my second sem is going to come and more exams and studies are coming too.=(

I shall wish everybody a very happy and wonderful new year ahead!!

oh yeah..i bought a new phone today cause my nice nice nokia phone kept on hanging on me..this LG phone better be good. and i just cannot stand the services at singtel. first you queue for the information counter to get a queue number then you wait for your queue number to go to the counter to get your phone. however this information counter queue takes forever to move because some people just take forever to ask their questions at the info counter. then for people like us who already had the phone we want in mind, we still have to queue. luckily for me, my mum manage to get somebody to process our order quickly if not i think i will just explode there. hate such queues man...but i really cannot wait for the phone to come..yay

and so the holidays are passing quickly and before we know it shups and xiang would be off to australia. and school is starting real soon. just gotten my results back today, i would not say its the best result but its within my expectation.

the musical is finally over and the paycheck is finally in my hands...muahaha..but i went not for the money but for the performing experience.

i really dont know what to blog about already..oh yeah..i went to robinsons for the sale and guess what i saw..people throwing shoe boxes around. new shoes out of the boxes and each pair can cost around hundred bucks..so crazy..and the queue for the cashier is like so long that you can wait for half an hour just to to pay for the things you buy.

now i am finding mods to bid..so much hassle..but i do look forward to school but like what yyk say, you will want holidays after the first day of school

NUSSO camp was fun fun fun!!! The company was great and I had alot of fun jamming around in different ensembles and staying up late at night to play bridge. I am glad I know more about the people in NUSSO during this camp and i am grateful to those people who make this camp possible.

I think its hard to describe everything about this camp here as it is much of a feeling than activities that could be listed down..

Now to look forward to is the x mas gig and also the many outings with the different group of people and the holiday is really passing quickly before the school term starts.

one more paper down, one more to go. this paper was quite difficult so i think i shant talk about it here.

concert ended yesterday. although after playing in so many concerts, i just cant help feeling that time really passes quite quickly and after months of rehearsals, the concert just came and went again and the next time would be preparing for the next concert. Sometimes i try to find meaning in such concerts so that it will be embedded in my memory forever like the concerts i have in acjc. probably this concert would be the first concert in snyo as a principal and the first to have many major solos.

ahh..really want to just play my instrument all day and stop thinking about the bad things in life...

The room was filled with smoke today as I was smoking my way through the two essays..haha the questions were quite ok but i am not sure if i have answered them correctly..anyway from today onwards i am free from singapore history unless i fail this module and have to do it again.

so one paper down..three more to go. Not sure whether i will score very well in this paper. cause i know how to do all the questions and answered all the questions but some questions obviously need more explanation because of more marks allocated but i just dunno what else to write down apart from what i have written.

really all these will be over so that i can go concentrate on my playing. Really want to improve my oboe playing and learn more and more pieces.

Activities to look forward to:
1) outing with xiang, shups, zel and crys
2) outing with the music people that is andris, jane, phengus, wailam..
3) class outing in east coast (hope it is a success)
4) christmas musical performance and practices
5) NUSSO Camp..whole time of music and fun...and jamming
6) shopping..shopping.( according to what xiang says, this activity is by default and should not be included in any planning at all)

these are the things on my list for the moment..

I wonder how dreams are created. The dreams for the past few weeks can be quite weird. People i have not seen for months came into my dreams, settings of each dream can be unfamiliar places( not in Singapore), some were even action packed.. not too sure why these dreams happen..

finally i have finish one of my modules. one down 4 more to go. yay..going to refurnish my room. getting rid of the gigantic thing in my room. the two storey bed with cupboards and table. and replacing with probably things from IKEA. simply love the place. someone said before that girls just like ikea because of the boxed. but i like the furnitures and the cooking things there..haha

suddenly i had an urge to look back at my blog posts. such a weird feeling overwhelmed me. never knew i did so many things just this one year. and this year is going to end soon. started off with some nostalgic feeling with the blog posts about sydney. then some posts about the days i spent with crystal,zel, xiang, and shups. then shups left for australia.and the list goes on.

two more weeks before exams..looking forward to NUSSO Camp and the Christmas Musical Concert. Also more activities with the usual group in december...

Yesterday was filled with fun activities. And so we went out to Central to eat japananese food(YUM YUM) and walked around the Clarke Quay area as if we were tourists because we were all taking pictues and chong han was like bringing this super huge camera which was named the tua leng gong.

We deliberately walked into the rows of clubs( However we did not go into any) in which we saw one with quite a special concept. Its called Clinic and you probably can guess that the seats are wheel chairs, the sofas are like the hospital bed, the lights are the lights used in the surgical theatre and people drink from the IV bags. Seems interesting but I don't think I would even go to this club even if I do club as it seems quite morbid. But i think its quite a creative idea on the whole. Have a look at it if you do walk around clark quay.

Then we went to see people jump the bungy jump. Quite cool though I don't have the guts to go up and I feel that why waste money on things that will make your stomach upset? haha

Zel posted that its 32 days before exams and that she should put that message everywhere. maybe I should do the same too. Practically slacking these few days watching some shows online. One part of my brain screams at me to start revising, the other part of my brain says that its ok to watch a little bit of the shows.

something interesting today, we were filling up some survey for the lecture, one question asked, "are the examples provided in the lectures interesint", then my friend said, "huh but there are no examples given at all" the worse is that this module is a maths module and no examples were given..

Finally the traumatic experience of doing the test in UNI is over but a bigger one has yet to come. Now is to wait for the results and hope and pray that everything will be alright. I have been consoling myself alot these days for the crappy things i have done in my tests. Surely I could do better.

The word of the day is STUDY. Why? Cause this is the season of mid term tests. So study, study, study. Its not exactly helping when you have food poisoning. I had food poisoning last weekend which took away nearly half my life. Sigh.this is life i guess.

Had a interesting practice yesterday. Was playing carmen suite no. 1 movement 2, then I was playing the cor anglais then. The strings then began to come in after their break and one person blocked me from seeing the conductor. Then the conductor realises that there is actually a cor anglais playing. Aieesh. the problem here is that i have been playing the cor anglais the past practices. why did he not notice? so weird.

Went for the first hall play today. It was basically fun. The people there were not intimidating at all which is good. Really hope to know these people better. There are so many things to look forward to and so many things to dread. i guess life is just like this so that a balance can be achieve. Things to look forward will always help to relieve my stress and the dread i always have.

Band bbq was fun. Just sitting around talking to people whom I have never met for months is just great. We even tried to plan for some outings like sentosa outings and sushi outings. Now, I think i will try to plan one outing. The rat movie or ratatouille . Many said they will like to watch it but haven't watch it.

Decided to change my layout. I think back to the simpliest thing is the best. Somehow I feel that the simpler the layout now, the better. Its easier to manipulate the html too. Anyway, the picture above is taken after the I open my presents at esplanade. However, I am not able to reduce it yet cause I don't have an appropriate program to do it on my mac. I never fail to feel happy at the end of every oboe lesson. Though its 3 hours long, I feel satisfied every lesson. The feeling of learning new things and knowing that you are improving is great. Today, I managed to make two workable reeds though one is quite unstable because I did not tie the reed properly.

I don't think I will step into that hair salon again. it seems like they did not cut my hair at all. My hair is still quite thick. the wrong decision of changing hair salon. I still prefer my previous hair stylist

Did you ever have the feeling of seeing someone and know that you know this person but you just cannot remember where you see this person before. This is what I experienced at the NTU concert today. Actually one girl approached me and said hi, i think i see her before but cannot remember who she is until she said that she was from the same music school. But in the end i still cannot remember the names. Actually this makes me feel quite guilty. Did i make an effort to remember people? Should i? so that in future there won't be such embarrassing situation.

Anyway, had a good dinner with xiang ning at the place we often go too. Mos burger. had the milk tea which is so far the best. Even the coffee shop ones aren't that good. Then we walked around and there is this new shop, Cotton on.This shop also brings back memory of sydney 2006. There are so many things i want to buy from there but i just don't have the heart to spend. I still have many wants. Like an addidas sweater and a new reed box which costs 200 hundred dollars. I guess i can never satisfy myself with what i have. I will just get something and something else will pop up in my wishlist again.

walks into lab with a blur look. then looked around and see that i have my own fumehood for working. makes friends with people around. then walks to the front for a briefing.
experiment starts.
1) Walks to the weighing station, lab tech offered to help me weigh but weighed something rather inaccurate
2) took the sample and made a solution. After thinking, feels that the weighing part is really not right. Went back to weigh again
3) took a burette and starts to wash it. Tap of burette not working..oh noes. panics. TA helped and after picking a few more spoilt burettes, finally something is working
4) looked at clock, panicked again
5) titrated some solution, readings were somewhat ok
6) coming to the last part. Titrated, why is the colour not changing? 15 mins more...ahh....then realised the reagents used were not right. titrated acid with an acid. haha then quickly titrated the right things.

finally lab ended

it was such a distressing 3 hours. i hope next week is better with me getting the hang of things. now to worry about is the freaking lab report

Days of the week pass really quickly and recently there are many activities to look forward to. Firstly, a birthday party of a friend in which I will meet many of my collegues from my relief teaching stint, then it will be a teachers day dinner. ( we were invited back to Pioneer sec) Then the most anticipated band bbq. I really miss these people. The memories of the sydney, practices and concerts we had together. Sometimes I find myself dreaming of all those times again.

Am I a perfectionist? I am not so sure. I expect things I own to be perfect..like no scratches, no dirt..blah. But I think I do not have such high expectation in my work..Oh wait..maybe I do..anyway who likes to see their tutorial full of mistakes

Lectures so far have been great. I have found company in all the lectures and met some new people. I think I am starting to know more and more people. From people I know, I know other people through introduction. But I find myself momentarily forget names. Its quite bad. I also need to clean up my contact lists in msn and phonebook. There are names in the lists that I don't know at all or don't talk to at all. Maybe I haven't got the initiative to do it. But often, I find myself not having enough courage to initiate a conversation to people I don't know well.

The show I am watching online is taking super long to load. Hence, I am here to blog. Hmmm..life has been good so far. I am beginning to enjoy uni life. Though sometimes I feel weird walking past many people I don't know( As compared to Jc where you practically meet somebody everywhere), I guess its a different feeling. I love the lunch with the usual two people xiang and zel plus now yong kiat and guo sheng.

I should start mugging soon though we agreed to start mugging this week. I guess procrastinating is a feature of the group i hang out with. Orchestra pracs were fun. I like the pieces we play. Stravinsky is challenging and cool, Mahler is somewhat new to me. As for SYO, I like all the pieces we are playing.

Currently at hostel now. Its a quite a quiet place. The past few days had been eventful. Firstly, on tues, i went out for flag day. It was fun but tiring. It was really interesting observing how people react when you try to flag.

Yesterday, went out with xiang, zel and crystal. They have prepared a treasure hunt for me. I had to go around looking for presents and there are five of it. It was fun and I really like the present. To xiang,zel and crystal, thanks alot for this meaningful present. Though i did not show out a very enthu expression that i am surprised getting the gift, I really like it alot.

It will be a few more days before I turn 19. I really feel that i am getting old...haha

Bidding is crazy. Yesterday morning, it was just three of us in that module. The highest bid point was 19. And then today, when i reached home after my oboe exam, the highest bid point is 597. The three of us all felt shocked. Then the panic kicks in. Then later, they decided to change modules. I should have asked them to changed modules earlier, for the better good of everybody. I am sorry to anybody who I have upsetted in this process. I also changed my mind, better secure something than none. So I decided to do another module. An arts gem with Jane. Something about religion. Seems interesting, I have always wanted to know more about each religion and the culture. I guess, this is the best plan among all. Hope i get all the modules later...

After a long long time, I have decided to come back to blog. Not really sure why i kept on putting off updating though i have many things to write about. I guess it might be because of the anxiety that i am facing now. The truth about going back to school. Maybe in the later part of the year you might see more posts as i will be on the internet most of the time as my hostel room has no tv.

Why do we have to bid for modules? It seems frustrating and very stressful. What if i do not get what i want? These are the questions popping in and out of my head after the talk today. The talk proved to be not very useful at all. Might as well call up some senior to check out how to plan for time table. Talking about time table, we have to plan such that tutorials don't crash, exams don't crash. OMG there are so many things to do.........arghh...

i guess i have to go research on the modules now....

Went to watch harry potter.Its not exactly the most fantastic show as it lacks content. I think alot of the things that are in the book were missing. Zel pointed out that the Dumbledore's army is not even mentioned in the first place until the students got caught by the professor.

I am looking forward to getting my last harry potter book.it better be good.

i am back from obs. 4 days of back to basic course is not so bad after all. Its quite fun and i feel quite accomplished doing some activities. So I climbed a 13 m structure with a buddy, walked for 5 hours to a campsite, kayak back for 5 hours( that's why the com is still kind wobbly in front of me now), crawl through some dark tunnel along and jumped a trapeze.

For these 4 days, its also quite a time for self reflection. It really let me think about my own life and also how can i make it better. I also learnt how to treat people around me better( Not that i treat them poorly) but as in how to make them feel more loved and such..

I don't think these 4 days would have been possible with all my watch mates. A special thanks to Ai ni who climbed the structure with me and pushed me till the end, Ganison and shu yan for roughing out with me in the sea. Lets just hope that our friendship does not end there in Pulau Ubin...

the llama song is a song that gets you high. I felt high when i listened to xiang, pingu and zel sing the song after band. They said they want to learn the song to conquer the world..haha

there are lots of things i need to do but i keep procrastinating. I think its just the way i am..i need to change. tidying up my room. getting exercise. practise my piano and oboe everyday...but i just keep pushing all this things back and end up sleeping in later..
Solution: Make sure that I wake up at 8.30 no matter how tired i feel.

concert in 2 days time. tickets still unsold. I guess its a problem that will always surface at every concert. Somehow the tickets will get sold out just one day before the concert. I hope it works this time again

tmr is 19th of june 2007. one year ago, we were at the airport waiting to board the plane to fly to sydney. i still miss the times we had there. Especially when i looked at the photos when i am doing the scrap book.

1) scrapbooking is fun...but 40 pages in 2 days is stressful. But i enjoyed every bit of the process from buying the things in bugis and bras brasah with zel and xiang to sitting in LT4 from 8-5 on friday.

2) I seriously think that I cannot draw and do arts stuff.

3) I will definitely miss shups...

4) Ben told us that alumni band would be a more permanent one. I really agree with this decision. At least we could become a semi professional band and then I still could play under Dr lee. Lets hope this goes well

5) I will need to set some baking projects. I really want to perfect my baking skills....

6) swimming..jogging.. badminton..yoga are things i need to do..I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!!

I just simply love to perform in gigs. Its not only fun, you get to know more people. Yesterday, I played in VJC string ensemble concert. Though there were only less than 5 practices that I have attended, I had great fun. Apart from teasing people around me, I had fun playing all the pieces in the concert.

I have finally finished my relief teaching at Pioneer Secondary. On one hand, I am going to feel very relieved not to see those students I hate again, on the other I am sure going to miss my form class. Endless fun with them will always live in my memory forever.

One student sent me a sms..Miss Teo, I wish you all the best to your future...I was so touched after reading it. He is from a technical class.

Then I went to see the photos I have taken with them on the last day. They were really hilarious. All the funny actions they have put up just for one shot...haha

Now I have finished my YST auditions and its like one big heavy rock just thrown away. I shall enjoy myself at the VJC string prac tmr and the concert on friday. Its been a long while since I play the oboe for 7-8 hours straight. I love Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5. Fellow musicians out there, you must really listen to this piece of song.

To end off..my trombone friend actually said this.." I did not know Tchaikovsky actually speaks hokkien. He actually wrote the notes 'CCB' in my score in triple f dynamic" For a moment the whole lot of us did not understand what he was trying to say. But after thinking for abit we realise that the notes 'CCB' meant something bad in hokkien which I prefer not to spell it out here. I have gotten use to this phrase due to my relief teaching at Pionner sec already. For people who still do not get it, please approach me personally so that I can tell you the underlying meaning...

110507 was the day where acjc band rewrote history...
Band no. 15 Anglo Chinese Junior College...Gold with Honours..
Then cheers erupted everywhere as all of us were quite dispersed sitting at different parts of the hall

I guess its a feeling that I cannot really describe. When Acjc band were playing, my heart was beating so fast, I think even faster when I am on stage playing for a concert. I was totally blown away by the set piece which was a well choregraphed piece. The safari was really well depicted by every single instrument.

I must really thank the juniors for working so hard to get what we have lost in 2005 and also thank Doc lee for his patience with the band and an undying desire for the band to improved greatly..

It is very exasperating when you need to find a piece of simple clothing and you cannot find it anywhere. This happened today, I went with andris to go shop for black blouses but it is either no size or the blouses are too fancy. After walking for around 2 hours, we gave up.

I conclude that it is better to go shopping alone or with two people. It is very difficult to walk with this whole gang of people. Firstly, when you start to look at something, they start to walk away. Secondly, you feel bad by making them wait while you try on clothes.

Anyway, i bought one t shirt, one babydoll top, a belt and a pair of jeans today..happiness. Andris bought similar things with me..haha..we even agreed to wear the same thing on saturday.

In the past, I never found joy in walking alone in shopping centres, time seem to go on slowly. However, i felt different today. Apart from going to esplanade library alone to borrow cds, i walked through the citylink alone and i felt good. Blasting music through the ipod while strolling alone gives a different feeling. i should do more of that next time. I not only think about many things, i observed people which is quite a fun thing to do.

One week of break is just what I need. Although the first two days were quite tiring because I have to attend the SYO camp. But I guess it is worth it. We have a new conductor and we were playing much nicer songs. I guess i did not have that much chance to have solos in the orchestra but i did in this camp.

Today, i decided to look through some magazines that were given to me during the release of A level results. I have found something useful for my interview( If i got shortlisted). I set my mind down and I took out a notebook and started to jote down some points to note before and during an interview. At least i am doing something constructive for my life...

having sleepovers this fri and sat. although i cannot make it for the ecp trip with the rest on fri morning, i still look forward to the sleepover. Sorry guys, i was called back to school for choir practice. this might be the last sleepover before all of us part our ways and go to whichever university we choose to go...sigh..

Have you watched a drama serial, waited for the final episode and it sucks? I have this experience. That is in Hana Kimi Taiwan drama. When all of us thought that the couple would get together in the end, the plot was given a slight twist. The couple decides that things should stay just the way it is. What a pooper!! But afterwards, I thought the decision maybe is just the right one after all. Since the girl is disguised as a boy to be with the boy in the boy's school, by remaining the same, they still could be together.

I really hope that there would be a sequel to it..but high chances that there won't be!!

I am now using my free period to blog. Having about two hours of free period. Anyway I had fun with the usual lot yesterday at K box. Thanks to Zel who suggested the trip there. With the funny noises, weird screamings and what nots i think everybody had fun. Choosing songs were quite difficult as the five of us really had different taste in songs. I personally liked the Chinese songs there by JJ, Jay Chou and some other female artistes and also FIR. But, the others were not that familiar with those songs and thus all of us sang the usual disney songs we sang while we were studying. I guess yesterday's session was a chilling session before the upcoming release of the A levels

Next..they plan to go ECP, but i don't know how to ride a bicycle :( but they said i can ride on the two rider thingy.

Chinese New Year is going to be this sunday. I really don't know if i should feel excited or what. What i am expecting is lots of comments probably because i just finished my A levels and i am onto my teaching job and also maybe i just permed my hair. But anyway i am looking forward to using my camera. I have not been touching the camera that much since december. I hope this chinese new year is something refreshing. I am going to invite the usual lot to have steamboat at my place something i have never done before.

I must thank my colleagues for helping me out during class time. I don't know whether I am a pushover or what. A few students just ran out of the class without permission today. I just hate punishing them but i have no choice but to do it. And so i made them do an essay on The importance of being silence in class.

Anyway to cheer myself up, I have found a new blogskin which is kind of classy and nice. Hope you all like it.

My goal for the year

My greatest goal of this year is to inspire and changed as many students as i can. Today, i have tried a different tactic. I have sat around the students and made small talk with them. I am really quite surprise that some of them do open up to me and told me things that were quite confidential. Some asked some sensitive questions but i managed to explain to them the situation and the rationale for all the things that happened. It just feels great

1) Still teaching at the secondary school...more interesting stories to come..i have not K.O yet..
2) Bought two bag on saturday..not really my fault..blame the bags..they are too attractive to resist..haha
3) learnt the basics of making reeds..and still practising..
4) Missing the mugger club 2006..looking for a day to meet them again!!
5) still looking for new year clothing

Seriously, being a teacher is really not easy. I am now speaking from experience for only a few days. On monday, i had lesson with this notorious class and i felt as if half of my life is gone. I have to shout, walk around to make sure that they are doing what they are doing. Nearer the end of the lesson, i simply gave up. I ask them to read whatever notes i have given to them and i sat down at a corner. Next week, they are sure gonna get hell from me. I will give them a test and see if they understood the lesson.

but i must say i like my math class. they are not say very obedient but they know when to listen and when to play. i do not want a class that is just quiet only or just noisy only. everything must be in balance. my math class is also very eager to learn and they are asking me alot of questions and vying to present their answers on the board. i must learn to praise them more. i think praising works as it boost their morales and will give out more.

first day of work

the first day at work was an interesting one. now that i have more contact with the students, i roughly have formed an impression of the culture there. the first music class is conducted with rules, rules and more rules but i have realised that i have not implemented all in.

i have shouted at students to keep them quiet, made the naughty one the music rep and walked around telling people to keep quiet. i would not say its a very successful lesson but i now know that i am able to be stern if i want to.( i always thought that i cannot be stern)

the second day was the cca fair. i was just helping around and made my debut conducting experience on stage. haha..never thought i would appear on stage as a conductor.

there was no class on the third day and so i spent my day in the staff room making ntoes and preparing a class on rock music. i really cannot imagine myself teaching rock music as i am not really fond of it. but being a music teacher, i cannot neglect any of the genres thus i have made myself buy two rock music cds and a "vcd school of rock". i have planned to let them watch this movie if they are obedient and quiet during class time

finally i have finish blogging what i have to say for this few weeks..phew..

How long can friendships last?

it became stronger in times of prelims and A levels
but now we have left college and are going into the universities.
how long can it last?
will we be able to meet up that often anymore?
will we have that much things to say even if we meet up?

A new year has begun...if you have been wondering why i have not been updating, i will have to tell you that i am too lazy to do it. i thought it would be better if i ramble everything in a post

activities that just came and went: band fest, christmas and new year. this year, i just slept through the countdown for christmas and new year. i was thinking that i have been doing countdown almost every year, maybe i will sleep through this year..haha

anyway, i met up with the girls yesterday. as usual we always have many things to talk about and laugh about, especially with xiang ning..the blur tofu..haha
i bought white pumps..my dream shoe...haha..been thinking for a while to get it and i finally got it. i got one with quite a tall heel so i can be taller if not i will always said to be vertically challenged.

day one

day one started off quite busy with lots and lots of things to do. i think it is until one that i can manage to take a break. anyway i am really irritated with several things during this event. for one, people just could not care to sell their tickets. i was like "wth, its their concert and they are like expecting us to sell of for them" and another thing, some people just bs about like not taking tickets from the school because they went to buy from sistic. my partner was like "hello, we have the report from sistic and that there aren't many tickets sold in sistic anyway." i guess i cannot really control anything, if the kids really want to play in the empty hall, so be it. its really none of my business as i am not playing in that concert and that i am only in charge of collecting unsold tickets and money.

secondly, i really have no idea why people are so irresponsible and still act as if there is no big thing about the whole incident. and so, a batch of students came to the chaperons room to say that the whole gang of them are pulling out of the event. we are flabbergasted. though, we cannot really control them in attending the event, but it is really important and there are a whole lot of important parts in a band missing. and that the balance would definitely go off after they leave.

such ignorant people...i really cannot stand it !!!!!!!!

just had dinner with my pri 6 classmates. its been a long time since i met up with them. we had steamboat at marina bay. i realised that many of them have changes over the years either in looks or in character. changes are made both in good and bad ways.

people in my life just come and go. its so funny to realise that friends that once have alot of things to talk to you about can reduce to just a mere few sentences exchanged and silence follows.

but i am really grateful to the friends i had in acjc. though some of these friendships are not long lasting but at least i still have friendships formed in band and will still continue on after our jc life.
